The Medical Security Services Company is one of the investments of the “Pension Fund” and exclusively owned by it. The activities of the company have been amended several times since its establishment in order to keep pace with variables and achieve its desired goals. Until the issuance of Resolution No. 156 of 1369 in Rome, delivered by the previous government, to assume its medical related tasks represented in providing all medical supplies, and managing health facilities investment according to the economic medical investment perspective as follows:
- Managing, operating, investing and equipping diagnostic and therapeutic medical centers and so forth.
- Marketing and supplying of medicines, equipment, and medical materials.
- Utilizing specialized medical and technical expertise required for the company’s activity.
- Manufacturing, importing and marketing of medical equipment and supplies for people with special needs; the disabled and the elderly.
- Supplying and marketing vehicles for the disabled, ambulance transport and equipment, spare parts.
- Supplying and marketing formulas and nutrition for infants; moreover, to people with special needs such as diabetics, kidney patients and others. In addition to child and mother care supplies.
- Supporting the health sector by providing some types of special and critical medicines.
- Managing and investing commercial markets, and establishing and equipping medical stores.
The company ably fulfilled the tasks entrusted to it and transferred investment returns to the owner, at a value of (7,171,970.661 LYD), which exceeds and doubles the company’s capital.
In view of the company’s success in its commercial activity, the owner has assigned the management of a number of health facilities specialized in physiotherapy of all kinds:
- Alshifaa Medical Center:
The center is located in the city of Benghazi, and specializes in providing medical services to many visitors. It has several specialized clinics such as:
Neurology clinic, nutrition clinic, orthopedic clinic, physical therapy clinic, dental clinic, internal medicine clinic, medical lab. As well as, the kinetic therapy unit, the electrotherapy unit, the rehabilitation and aerobics hall.
- Al Ajilat Physiotherapy Center:
The center is located in the city of Al-Ajeilat, which is 88 kilometers from the city of Tripoli, and 15 kilometers away from the ancient city of Sabratha, with an area of approximately eight hectares of service facilities in the housing units divided into three residential partitions:
- The first block contains 21 medium housing units.
- The second block contains 38 housing units.
- The third block contains 30 housing units.
The treatment facilities of the center:
A 100 square meters sulfur basin with a capacity of 150 cubic meters of water. It has all kinds of physiotherapy, such as dry heat therapy and wax therapy, an electrical and thermal treatment unit, which covers an area of 68 square meters, and many medical examination clinics.
Characteristics of sulfur water:
The center is renowned by the abundance of acidic thermal sulfur water, which contains a large percentage of dissolved salts. The analysis conducted on this water confirms that it is free of pollution and bacteriologically pure; with a pH of 7.96. The sulfur water contains the following compounds: calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, carbonates and chlorides. In addition to, sulfate and nitrate in balanced proportions.
- Alassah Physiotherapy Center:
The center is located in the Al-Asa area, which is about 40 kilometers from the city of Zuwarah. The sulfur water in the center is of high quality for treatment and recovery. Its temperature is roughly between 40-50 degrees Celsius.
Salts index: sulfur salts and chloride salts with a degree of electrical conductivity of 7672 microcosm/cm.
The depth of the well ranges between 904 to 1549 meters. The production capacity of the well is 221 cubic meters per hour; artesian flow.
The first phase of the project is to establish twenty housing units and integrated offices, as part of a plan targeting the project of 100 housing units.
- Ain Zara Physiotherapy Center:
The center has many specialized clinics and physiotherapy departments managed by qualified staff. There is an integrated study, which has been already referred to the authorities, prepared for the option of establishing a specialized center to break up kidney stones.
Future plans:
Focusing on importing infant formula and food. Moreover, importing supplies for mother and child, people with special needs, and diabetic food. On the other hand, establishing a department specialized in importing medicines, medical supplies and equipment for the company’s medical centers and medical centers inside the country.
Commercial transactions:
The company has imported products and merchandise from many European and international companies specialized in the same field and activity of the company according to the following:
Infant formulas:
The company has practiced the activity of supplying and marketing infant formula and food since 1995 and covered the needs of all regions in Libya of this product. Whereas the volume of its transactions supplied until the year 2010 amounted to more than thirty-five million Libyan dinars. Among these international companies:

The company has the experience and ability to provide specific requirements for the elderly and the disabled where it has covered a large part of the necessary needs related to these categories such as: hearing aids and wheelchairs of all kinds for the disabled, adults diapers and so forth.
In this regard, it dealt with several specialized companies, including:

- The Cypriot company Linity.
- The Taiwanese Confor Company.
Mother and childcare:
The company took the lead in this regard by dealing with the largest companies specialized in this field.
The company’s agreements are set by starting permanent, irrevocable credits that are executed as follows:
15 % upon opening the credits, 90% after shipment of the goods and the arrival of the documents to the bank, 5% after entering the goods into the warehouse, and the terms of the credit are determined upon arrival at the port (CFR).
Inspection:
Inspection are carried out by one of the specialized Libyan companies in return for 1% of the value of the credits, and the supplier shall pay it. In addition, taking into account that the imported product agrees with the Libyan standard specifications by conducting all the necessary examinations in the country of origin and issuing the validity certificates.
The company owns many cars equipped for local marketing; in addition to a number of marketers affiliated with the company and others working for themselves, in the local markets “wholesalers”. It also has several branches in Tripoli, Misurata, Al-Ajeilat and others. Moreover, a number of distribution centers distributed throughout the country that handles the marketing process.
